The Continued Evolution of Harley Quinn, by Angela Rairden
comic reviews dc comics Harley Quinn review Riley Rossmo Stephanie Phillips
Harley Quinn went from being a notorious criminal as the Jokerâs girlfriend in Gotham to being a well-intentioned, but not exactly law-abiding, anti-hero when she got a fresh start in Jersey. Now, in her newest reboot from writer Stephanie Phillips, Harleyâs looking to becomeâŠa hero?!? In Marchâs Harley Quinn #1, everyoneâs favorite psychiatrist-turned-delinquent clown finally returns to Gotham with an aim to make amends for her past misdeeds. This is not the same Gotham as the one she left, however. This Gotham is still shook from the Joker War, the aftermath of which has left the good people of Gotham...
Karmen Promises to Be a Different Type of Angel Tale by Angela Rairden
comic reviews Guillem March Image Karmen review
Karmen #1, released by Image and written and illustrated by Guillem March, is exactly the sort of unique, offbeat comic that Image fans have come to know and love. The comic chronicles the tale of an unconventional angel named Karmen and the young woman who becomes her latest charge. Depicted as a thin, young woman with short pink hair and a smatter of freckles across her nose, Karmen seems to have a carefree, almost playful attitude as she first graces the pages of the comic. From her neck to her high heel-clad toes, Karmen appears to wear a skin-tight black...

Need a Netflix Recommendation? Give âProject Powerâ a View! by Angela Rairden
action Dominique Fishback Jamie Foxx Joseph Gordon-Levitt Netflix Project Power review sci-fi
Although it was first released in August of 2020, I just recently caught Netflixâs film Project Power and was intrigued by its action-packed storyline. Starring big names like Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the plot involves recently developed pills that give their users unpredictable superpowers, but only for five minutes at a time. The film explains that the pills are derived from evolutionary developments found in animals, such as a cheetahâs speed or a chameleonâs ability to change colors. The pills are sold on the street by drug dealers for astronomical prices with the tantalizing concept of âwhatâs your power?â...
"A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night" is a Different Type of Vampire Tale by Angela Rairden
A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night Behemoth indie comic review vampire
The other day, I picked up volume one of Ana Lily Amirpourâs A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, a comic adaptation of Amirpourâs 2014 film of the same title. Although I couldnât find anything official to indicate how many single issues are enclosed in this trade collection, it appears to be only the first two â âDeath is the Answerâ and âWho Am Iâ. The film, which is in Persian, is touted as âthe first Iranian vampire Western,â and follows the doings of a character known only as The Girl, who is a young-looking female vampire inhabiting the seedy...
